Store Level Marketing 

 

 

We call on store level decision makers that DO bring in product for us at Indies and Indie Chains. 

They also provide us co-op in-store positioning at no cost.

  

RESULTS TO EXPECT:
Our campaigns consistently and historically provide average increases; both wholesale and sell-thru, of 500% to 1600%. Translated into unit numbers on a (i.e.) 200 store campaign, an 800% increase would be the equivalent of increasing the average number of units in stock, per store, from 0.38 units, to 4 units per store. An 800% increase applied to overall sales in those 200 stores is an increase from 75 units to 700 units sold.

  CAMPAIGN FLOW:
Our campaigns are broken down into two sections. Section #1 is “getting the product in the store” followed by Section 2 which concentrates on “getting the product out the door”. We continue to service each individual title for a period of 8 to 10 weeks. We “COMPLETE” 2 calls to each store spaced 4-5 weeks apart and 2 pieces of mail timed to follow each of those completed calls (our mail packages are customized for each artist; more detail on mail packages below). We don’t stop there; often more than 2 “COMPLETED” calls are necessary to obtain guest list names, follow-up on: orders being placed, special campaigns in process, etc.. In order to complete the 2 calls, often 3, 4 or 5 calls are required before a call is considered “COMPLETE”. Our success is based on the connection with the Decision Maker. If the Decision Maker is (obviously) having a bad day, or is way too busy to concentrate on our requests, then we will call back at a better time. If a Decision maker is simply non-responsive, we will call back on a different shift, to find an alternate Decision Maker.

RETAIL GUEST LISTS FOR PERFORMANCES:
We stay RIGHT on top of all tour dates. We leverage retail guest lists in exchange for additional positioning and awareness at retail, while also getting key retailers out to see performances. We also leverage various other types of promotions that tie in with getting customers out to the performances such as poster giveaways with purchase and a chance to win tickets to a show, e-mail blasts (sent by our stores) containing electronic tour banners, etc..

AIRPLAY MARKETING:
If there is airplay in a market that overnight strengthens substantially – by copy of the radio report and then with Client approval - the next morning Rock ‘n Retail will be calling on the Retailers in that market, spreading the word, getting the product stocked and getting the promo materials not only out to the stores, but getting them to USE them in store; with or without a tour date.

TOUR MARKETING:
When an Artist/Band arrives in a tour market, Rock ‘n Retail has already called on, and promotional materials are already in place, at EVERY Independent retailer (that makes sense), within 30+ miles of the venue. Managers, customers and clerks are aware of your Band and their tour date well in advance of their arrival.

  • 8 to 10 continual weeks of servicing INDIVIDUAL titles (only). 
  • EXTENSIVE increase of One-Stop and/or Distributor direct orders/sales
  • EXTENSIVE increase of Consumer Sell-thru
  • EXTENSIVE in-store pricing and positioning (no need to purchase through Corporate), for:
      - In-Store play
      - Wall Board Displays
      - Audio Listening Posts
      - Video Viewing Posts
      - End Cap positions
      - Sale Pricing
      - Bin Card placement (for supplied bin cards)
      - Counter/register displays
      - Poster giveaways
      - “On Tour Now” signage placement
      - “As Heard On….” signage placement
  • Piggybacking other Bands’ PAID positioning (we obtain shared space, positions, sale pricing for same genre, same tour bills, same Radio station play lists, etc.)
  • 2 “COMPLETED” personalized calls to each store’s decision maker; 2 opportunities to gain orders, sales, positioning.
  • Various methods implemented to get titles stocked, and/or increase inventory. Piggybacking other Bands’ PAID positioning (we obtain shared space, positions,
  • 2 mailings per store timed to mail after Call #1 and Call #2 containing twice marked CD’s or DVD’s, bios, one-sheets, posters, bin cards, etc. (Label supplies promos, P.O.P., etc.).
      - ALL OUT GOING PACKAGES ARE STICKERED WITH CD ARTWORK (for ease of recall); on the package. We prepare the    package stickers (unless you choose to supply) and they are included in our cost.
  • Distribution of electronic art for retailer’s websites, webstores, e-mail blasts and/or newsletters (at no additional cost).
  • E-mail correspondence to Retailers; requests for Catalogs, one-sheets, artwork, etc.
  • Compliance checks to ensure Price & Position programs purchased by Label, are being carried out
  • Set-up and Execution of special promotions, contests and/or In-store performances, meet ‘n greets, autograph appearances, “drop-bys”, etc..
  • Immediate ability to change market priorities if needed within 24 hours (as radio, tours, publicity or as other factors deem)
  • Each 3 weeks detailed written report to Client
  • Retail guest lists for shows, bartered for extensive in-store positioning and retail support
  • Verbal and day-to-day notification of Back Orders, No Fills, Inventory depletion, and overall market reaction
  • Each 3 weeks detailed written report to Client
OUR FEE BASE:
Our fees are based on the number of stores we service. The more stores we service, the lower the cost per store. We perform our services on a flat rate service fee plus the physical (our cost) of U.S. Postage and bubble mailers. There are no additional nor hidden add-on costs.
